How do you feel tonight?

I’m feeling elated and quite excited to start at Pratt.

Walk me through the process of you applying to Pratt.

I’m an architect. I did my masters from the UK. After that I worked three years as an architect. I realized that architecture isn’t creatively fulfilling; It’s something I can do but on a smaller level. So I looked at all my options and the University that stood out to me the most was Pratt. After that I taught myself the basics of graphic design and created my portfolio.

What will you be studying at Pratt this fall?

I will be doing my Masters in Communication Design this upcoming Fall.

What did you submit for your portfolio?

IT was an eclectic portfolio, it had everything. I wanted to show the variety of mediums I can use and not limit the creativity. I designed the perfume bottle as well. This was the first thing I had ever designed graphically. Maybe that caught his attention. I asked him, “Why me?” He said that everything was well rounded in my portfolio and that my statement of purpose was quite strong.

What future projects will you be working on?

I have no clue, I’m still new.

Are you still jet-lagged?

No, no. I’ve been here for two days already. So, I’m not jet lagged but certainly my sleeping patterns are still on Indian times.
