Power Book III Raising Kanan
2.9K

This week’s episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan delivered one of the most shocking moments of the season right out of the gate.

In the opening five minutes, Krystal, Kanan’s girlfriend, was gunned down by Pop in a brutal and unexpected move. The killing left many viewers stunned and questioning the motive. Krystal wasn’t involved in anything serious, didn’t know anything incriminating, and yet she was taken out without warning. Her death felt senseless, and for fans who had grown attached to her character, it hit hard.

What makes it even worse is how Snaps and Pop may have made things harder for themselves. By taking out Krystal, and with the situation around Famous still unresolved, they’ve only drawn more attention to their actions. The decision to eliminate Krystal doesn’t clean things up, as it creates more questions and raises the stakes. With Kanan and Jukebox already growing suspicious, it seems inevitable that the truth will eventually come to light. When it does, Snaps and Pop could be facing the most brutal consequences in the entire Power universe.

Many fans believe Snaps and Pop are being positioned as the final villains of the series. Up to this point, they’ve operated quietly and with precision. But no one in this world gets away clean forever. Once Kanan learns what really happened to Krystal and Famous, his descent into darkness will be complete. This could be the defining moment where both Kanan and Juke embrace the monsters they’re destined to become.

Aside from that devastating turn, there were quieter moments that still stood out. One of the most memorable was a short exchange between Kanan and Unique. Kanan’s confession about killing Ronnie came as a surprise, but Unique’s response was unexpectedly respectful. Instead of reacting with anger, he seemed to appreciate Kanan’s honesty. Their relationship appears to be evolving, and it looks like we’ll be seeing more of their dynamic in future episodes.

Jukebox’s storyline is also building quietly but with tension. She still owes Detective Garcia a favor, and viewers are starting to wonder how she’ll repay that debt. One theory is that she could subtly guide Garcia toward Snaps and Pop, setting them up without directly betraying anyone. Given how calculated Juke has proven to be, this could become a critical turning point in the season.

Uncle Marvin had another solid moment this episode. He jumped in to protect someone without hesitation, showing his more nurturing side. Viewers also noticed a small but meaningful touch as he tried to calm himself with breathing exercises at the door, a callback to his ongoing journey of self-improvement. It added emotional depth to an already intense scene and reminded us just how far Marvin has come.

Lou’s decision to walk away from the label is still a bit unclear. It’s hard to tell if it will lead to anything significant, but some fans are hoping B’rilla steps up in a real way as a result. There’s potential for that storyline to develop in the finale, depending on how the pieces fall.

Clocking in at only 48 minutes, this episode was shorter than expected but packed with impact. It kept the pacing tight and focused while setting the stage for a high-stakes finale. Krystal’s death lingers as a gut punch that many fans weren’t prepared for. With so much on the line and emotions running high, next week’s episode is primed to be one of the most intense in the entire Power saga.

This is the calm before the storm. And it’s about to get violent.
