Palermo Opens New Gramercy Location, Your New Summer Spot Is Here

We stopped by for opening night and were treated to a dining experience that balanced warmth and elegance in every bite.

Palermo Argentinian Bistro, known for bringing the bold, rustic flavors of Argentina to Hell’s Kitchen, has debuted a second outpost in Manhattan’s Gramercy neighborhood.

Upon arrival, the restaurant possessed a dim, cozy ambiance—perfect for the day’s rainy weather or, even better, your next date night. While tucked in a quiet corner, the bistro’s team is just as warm, ensuring every patron has a top-tier experience.

Carefully Crafted Menu

Palermo’s menu is thoughtfully curated, focusing on four pillars: steak, wine, seafood, and hospitality. With vibrant starters like sweet corn empanadas and burrata salad, as well as indulgent mollejas and octopus plates, it’s easy to fill up quickly. Though you’ll want to save room for the incredible entrees.

We indulged in the NY Strip Sirloin served with chimichurri, salsa criolla, and roasted red peppers. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it’s a meal that leaves us hanging on to every bite. Even though my party prefers a well-done steak (cue the screams), it was tender and juicy, elevating the entire experience.

Aside from our menu picks, Palermo truly has something for everyone, like the Argentine cut skirt steak and a Tomahawk for two. For the “let’s order everything and share” parties, the Parrillada for Two delivers a bountiful spread of grilled favorites, including skirt steak, short ribs, sweetbreads, chicken, chorizo, morcilla, salad, mashed potatoes, chimichurri, and salsa criolla. 

If you’re really looking for a night out, all good meals should be paired with a delicious cocktail or wine. Palermo delivers just that. Think smoky mezcal, chimichurri-infused martinis, and a margarita with a twist, all crafted with flavor and flair. Their cocktail lineup feels fresh, fun, and a little dramatic (in the best way).

Our favorite, however, is the Tinto de Verano. Crafted with Pisco Demonio de los Andes, fresh lime, mint, and Sprite, it’s an oh-so refreshing cocktail. We’ll be thinking about it on the hottest of New York days. 

Weekly Happy Hours

If you work nearby, you don’t have to think about it. Round up your colleagues for Palermo’s weekday Happy Hour. From Monday to Friday, enjoy handcrafted cocktails alongside crowd-pleasers like ceviches, empanadas, and taquitos—the perfect after-work treats.
