There’s a new reason to look up in Pasadena.

Perched atop the brand-new AC Hotel Pasadena, Osa – the stunning rooftop restaurant from Boulevard Hospitality Group officially opened, and it’s already changing the city’s dining landscape, one panoramic sunset at a time. With breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Mountains and the historic Pasadena skyline, Osa is more than just a pretty perch. It’s the first rooftop concept of its kind in the area, offering a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere that seamlessly blends California cool with thoughtful design, seasonally driven cuisine, and local spirit. Set around an olive tree and flanked by cozy fire pits, Osa’s open-air terrace evokes the natural beauty of the nearby Angeles National Forest, while design elements nod to Baja California’s earthy textures and the bold, emotional color palettes of architect Luis Barragán. The result? A rooftop experience that feels effortless, intentional, and distinctly Californian.

Osa is the latest project from Boulevard Hospitality Group, known for crafting immersive dining experiences that pair culinary creativity with striking design. “We’re proud to bring a Boulevard concept to Pasadena,” said Freddy Braidy, Founder of BHG. “It’s a city we’ve long admired for its charm and character, and we’re excited to contribute something vibrant and welcoming to the wonderful community here.”

The restaurant is named Osa, the Spanish word for female bear, in a subtle nod to the Golden State’s emblem — and its menu celebrates the diverse culinary roots of California with bold, fresh dishes curated by Executive Chef Carlos Couts. A Los Angeles native with credits at Sushi by Scratch and Rokusho LA, Couts brings a globally influenced, ingredient-driven sensibility to Osa. Standout dishes include Ora king salmon crudo, grilled swordfish, roasted beets, hand-pressed tostones, and a decadent wagyu burger that’s already gaining buzz.

Behind the bar, Pete St. Peter (formerly of Capri Club) leads a playful yet elevated cocktail program that highlights seasonal ingredients and California-made spirits. Signature sips include the Cactus Cooler (a smoky-spicy mezcal concoction with nopales, amaro, and aloe), the Triple Cali Spritz (a bubbly blend of three California aperitifs), and Drop the Beet (a vibrant margarita with beet juice, raspberry, and lime). Add in an extensive wine list, curated happy hour menus, and the promise of a weekend brunch launching later this summer, and it’s clear Osa was built to impress across every touchpoint. Open nightly for dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Osa is already making its mark as a go-to destination for locals and travelers alike. With sweeping views, sunset cocktails, and a vibe that feels both grounded and glam, Pasadena’s skyline has never looked or tasted so good.
