Stretching from Friday, October 27th to Halloween night itself, The McKittrick has outdone itself with Monster: A Halloween Party.

An invitation to unleash inner beast, The McKittrick Hotel’s “Monster: A Halloween Party” was an otherworldly dreamscape teeming with monsters, myths, and live acts, lilting toward haunted sexiness rather than jump-scare terror. Indeed, across six floors, the entire hotel was transformed into a realm where the extraordinary became the norm, and revelers were granted passage to a world where their true inner monsters could roam free. Amid rich competition for your Halloween night, The McKittrick has long set the standard for Halloween blowouts with legendary themes, from 2012’s Carnival des Corbeaux to last year’s The Lost Garden. Monster took things to new heights and depths.

This mesmerizing evening was a delight as we celebrated, danced, and reveled deep within the McKittrick Hotel’s mysterious and enchanting atmosphere. The dress code encouraged guests to embrace their inner monsters or simply don all black attire, with inspiration readily available. The sheer volume of dancers, performers, thrill seekers and creatives attending and participating in the party was astounding, where so many talents were on vivid display.

Produced by Emursive, the creative minds behind “Monster: A Halloween Party” were none other than Conor Doyle and Oliver Sayer, the visionary founders of the immersive creation studio, One Hundred, along with Marla Phelan, an accomplished dance artist and choreographer. This creative trio had their roots in performing in the iconic Sleep No More immersive theater experience, making them the ideal team to craft such a unique and enthralling event. Over the years, they had been instrumental in shaping many of the McKittrick’s extraordinary parties and special events, including the likes of “A Midsommar Night’s Dream” and New Year’s Eve soirées.

The allure of “Monster: A Halloween Party” was undeniable, and it drew accolades from all corners. As one guest put it, “The McKittrick Hotel just does Halloween better, year after year.” We couldn’t believe how vast this party felt- seemingly going on forever, a kaleidoscope of experiences that were ever-changing, it felt like we never saw the same person twice. Vanity Fair hailed it as “a dream-like world where no one wanted to go to sleep,” and Whalebone described it as “an intricate maze of multiple floors, each hosting a different experience.”

To elevate the experience even further, we opted for for Oz’s List, which offered access to Oz’s Boudoir, an exclusive lounge for the evening. For the ultimate indulgence, Maximilian’s Guest tickets secured a reserved table in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. For those seeking a breath of fresh air amidst all the excitement, the hotel’s rooftop garden bar and restaurant, Gallow Green, remained open, offering a serene respite.

The McKittrick hosts events throughout the year. Up next, discover The McKittrick’s New Year’s Eve festivities here.
