The Knockturnal had the pleasure of attending The Fall Guy premiere at the Dolby Theater on Tuesday, April 30th.
The movie follows Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling), a seasoned stuntman who had to take a year off after he suffered a career changing injury. Colt is thrust back into the spotlight when the lead actor he doubles for goes missing. He travels to Australia to be the stuntman in the blockbuster film his ex-girlfriend (Emily Blunt) was directing. While Colt tries to solve the mystery of the vanished actor and win back the love of his life, danger lurks around every corner, threatening to derail his plans. Colt must navigate a treacherous path where the stakes are higher than any stunt he’s ever performed.
The movie breaks the fourth wall as it invites audiences behind the scenes into the world of stuntmen, directors, and working with lead actors. The Fall Guy is a rollercoaster of action and suspense while seamlessly weaving in humor and romance to keep every member of the audience entertained.
The event started with one of the stuntmen jumping to the stage from the rafters, which set the tone for the movie. Then, the cast came to the stage and Ryan Gosling explained that this movie is a “love letter to the crew”, and he hopes it helps to get stuntmen their Oscars someday soon. Audiences will love this movie on Friday, May 3rd!
