Spotify usually deals with big numbers: billions of plays, millions of listeners, thousands of songs uploaded a day.
But when it comes to an intimate private celebration, Spotify uniquely caters an experience for a small number of special guests. And hanging poolside at the Sunset Tower Hotel on Wednesday, November 20th, grooving to a special set by Camila Cabello and sipping themed cocktails, Spotify executives, guests, creators, musicians, and friends were given a moment to celebrate the music and content of Spotify.
According to Cabello, the company was “instantly supportive” of “Havana,” which she sang along with “Never Be the Same” and “Liar.” Celebrating both her Grammy nomination for her song “Senorita” and her upcoming meeting with Oprah, Cabello reminded the audience to partake in the cocktails and have fun.
Among those “having fun” included Bazzi, Lele Pons, Benny Blanco, Ryland Adams, and Scooter Braun. Pons and Adams both have upcoming Spotify original podcasts. They celebrated alongside Spotify CEO Daniel Ek and Chief Content Officer Dawn Ostroff.
Illuminated by candlelight and warmed by heaters, the latter a rare indication of a Los Angeles fall, the intimate setting allowed guests to mingle, try cocktails such as Punchcast (a reference to Parcast) and The Gramophone (a reference to the Grammy statue).
Offering a brief respite before the holiday season and the award season, a small unique Spotify evening was the perfect way for creators to step back and take a breath. For we know tomorrow, Spotify will be back dealing with things in the millions.
