Situated amid the dunes of Southampton, adoptable pets and people alike enjoyed the sand and sea at Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s first annual SO FETCH beach party fundraiser.
Taking place on a prime stretch of Southampton Beach just steps away from the legendary Bathing Corporation, the first annual SO FETCH beach party had a distinctly bohemian feel. Trading black tie and heels for sandals and linen, guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere that had its focus squarely on fun rather than any formalities. It was a refreshing opportunity to enjoy company after a year of COVID-19 pandemic throwing pause on in-person socializing, with attendees including Marcy MacMillan, Elizabeth Pagnis, Marc Anthony, co-chair Elizabeth Shafiroff, and Rolise Rachel.
Drinks weren’t in short supply, with glasses of refreshing Bodvar Rosé being poured and Tito’s being served at the bar. We also enjoyed wine provided by Winc, a winemaker and club subscription service. As the night went on, guests were offered vegetarian appetizers by Seasons of Southampton. As we toured the beach, where guests could enjoy a bonfire and s’mores.
The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s mission is to provide a stepping stone for animals to find loving homes. The number of stray animals on Long Island is staggering. Supported by volunteers and donors, SASF offers animals housing, food, medical treatment, training, and rehabilitation when necessary, all with the goal of placing animals in homes.

A number of adoptable pets were on site, enjoying the sand and time outside with new people. They were fun to watch as volunteers led them around the party, greeting guests and other curious animals. The First Annual SO FETCH beach party was hosted by Georgina Bloomberg, Katie McEntee, Kingsley Crawford, Nathania Nisonson, Elizabeth Shafiroff, Merritt Piro, Elizabeth Bowden, and Olivia Mulvey.
As the sun set, a bonfire came to life with guests able to enjoy s’mores and dessert in the form of one of the Hampton’s best exports, Tate’s Bake Shop chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes in a jar by Baked Craving.
A bumping DJ set by Teal Camner kept the party going into the night as guests such as Adrianna Desvastich, Julie Sinaw, and James Marzigliano danced under the tiki-torches and moon over the water. Fundraisers like this are critical to SASF continuing its mission in giving pets their forever homes.
