The wine brand hosts its second, in a series, family meal dinner in collaboration with chef Andy Baraghani in New York City.

A long table, dim lighting, clinking glasses, four courses, with the finest Robert Mondavi selections, set the stage for last night’s intimate dinner at Bridges NYC. Designed as an extension of Mondavi’s legacy of community, the brand cultivated the ultimate dining experience to celebrate the talented culinary patrons whose craft and dedication shape the industry. Spearheaded by Andy, the meals were prepared by Bridges Executive Sous Chef Derrick Santiago. The evening’s menu featured confit squash and chicory salad, chestnut lasagna with grated walnut, blue crab rice with mussel emulsion, and grilled pork neck with vinegared cabbage and quince. Each dish was thoughtfully paired with selections from Robert Mondavi Winery’s award-winning portfolio, including 2023 Estates Sauvignon Blanc, 2023 Reserve Fumé Blanc, 2022 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2018 Estates Sauvito. There was also a special toast of a special library vintage 2011 Robert Mondavi Winery Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

“I feel very lucky,” Baraghani shares in his address. “When Robert Mondavi asked me to start this family series, I immediately knew what restaurant I wanted to do,” he shares when describing Bridges as a special place. “Family meal is one of those moments right before service where you have some level of calm,” he adds, while many chefs in attendance agreed during his speech. The night is dedicated to emphasizing this small, yet significant moment, one that is familiar to patrons in this space.”The best part of a family meal is learning from other chefs,” Derrick Santiago shared during his address over dinner. The ritual served as an opportunity not just for connection, but for mentorship among chefs.
Other highlights included the restaurant learning mid-service, having become recipients of their very first Michelin star!
