Last night Penguin celebrated its 60th year anniversary in their freestanding Soho store.
The venue was packed with fashion tastemakers and influencers, accompanied by British band, Life in Film, who performed sets from their latest album. In addition, Penguin provided interesting Gin cocktails and an unlimited variety of melted cheese sandwiches.
Apparel and accessories were also on display along with band merchandise. The event was also hosted by an in house DJ providing beats throughout the night. Guests had the chance to mingle and talk with Penguin representatives.
Established in 1955, Penguin originated in a Minnesota factory producing underwear. Today it is a original testament to timeless and classic appeal in designs. Penguin specializes in shirt designs for men, combining vintage and modern aesthetics.
Penguin celebrates the fashion forward but modest man. The company has opened stores worldwide with its mass appeal ranging from teenagers to senior. It is now an international fashion house, trademarked by “be an original.”
The brand’s 6oth anniversary collection is designed and crafted to emulate that great vintage piece you managed to find at a yard sale or local vintage store. All the pieces are garment-dyed then washed, making each piece unique and personal. The palette is rich, warm and wearable.
