Gina Rodriguez wows the crowd both on screen and on the carpet at the “Miss Bala” movie premiere in Los Angeles! The energy on the red carpet was ecstatic as celebrities from around the world came out to the premiere of this action-packed film! As soon as the sun set, actors, influencers, singers, and models began parading the red carpet. There was a particularly strong Latina presence on the carpet in support of the movie’s powerful Latina lead, Gina Rodriguez. Rodriguez later posted photos with friends Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Diana Maria Riva, and many more from the event with the caption, “Latina Royalty at the Miss Bala Movie Premiere”. We also got a chance to catch some selfies with celebrities Sophia Bush, Terry Crews, Manny Gutierrez, and many others… all of whom were super sweet! Immediately upon arrival, Gina Rodriguez even snapped some photos with fans across the street before making her way down the red carpet.

The crowd erupted as the lights dimmed at the Regal theater in Los Angeles. Actor Gina Rodriguez and director Catherine Hardwicke stood before anxious friends and family as they provided a brief intro to the film. Rodriguez concluded her speech saying, “The fact that everyone showed up tonight was really dear to my heart, so it means the world to me. I hope you have fun, and let’s have more of these, right?!”.

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Gina Rodriguez, Miss Bala is an action-packed heart-wrenching movie that will keep you inching towards the edge of your seat! In the film, Gina Rodriguez plays Gloria, a young girl from America who is separated from her best friend during a gang shootout at a bar in Tijuana, Mexico. Gloria is then captured by Lino, one of the biggest cartel leaders at the California/Mexico border. Ismael Cruz Córdova plays Lino who is portrayed as evil and empathetic despite all of the horrific crimes he commits. These traits leave viewers with an internal battle, later questioning whether or not there is a romantic connection between Gloria and Lino. It is hard to believe that this is one of Córdova’s first major films, as his performance was nothing short of incredible! Gloria is forced to step into both a powerful and dangerous role as she risks everything to save her family.
