The party was well-attended and featured performances by Roller Girls LA and Suzanna Hoffs of The Bangles.
This past Thursday, we took a step back in time with RODARTE in celebrating the launch of a new capsule collection featuring the darkly whimsical art of Mari Eastman. The sweaters, floral patterned jackets and neon accent pieces could have comfortably come from the wardrobe trunk of your favorite 80’s film. Mixed with RODARTE’s eye for excellent tailoring and thoughtful silhouettes, the enthusiastic collection sits comfortably as a modern time capsule of style.
The party featured everything from a 80’s bedroom (Madonna posters included), to a full arcade. Laser lights, bleachers, and a heavy dose of neon kept the party remarkably authentic. I would be lying if it didn’t feel just a little bit high school in a good way. Guests came to dance, with sets by Suzanna Hoffs of the Bangles and a 80’s themed DJ set, no one was disappointed. Passed snacks and popcorn machines dotted the Milk Studios space-turned roller rink, as the LA Roller Girls donned RODARTE wares and completed a beautifully choreographed number under the dazzling lights of a neon “RODARTE” sign.
Guests in attendance included Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the designers of RODARTE; Mari Eastman, the artist responsible for the embellishments on the new capsule collection; Susanna Hoffs, musician of The Bangles; Britt Robertson, Actor, Chris Horan, a stylist, influencer Dani Song, Lily Reinhart and many more.
The event, prepared by Milk and MasterCard, was a celebration of creativity and a love for the 80’s, something we stand behind 100%. It’s a funky chic collection of cat, butterfly, and kitten-inspired motifs, preppy chic bold, and moody atmospheric pieces. The limited edition capsule is available at Fred Segal starting on Friday, August 2nd.
