Enter the magical town of Schmigadoon, where Melissa and Josh find themselves after stumbling upon a mysterious bridge while on a hike. What they originally believe is a quaint town that is putting on a musical turns out to be anything but once they try to leave and find themselves unable to cross the bridge back to the real world. They soon learn from the town’s inhabitants that Schmigadoon is a magical town that can only be entered by those who are pure of heart, and can only be left by those who have found true love. This means that Melissa and Josh are trapped in Schmigadoon until they can find true love for themselves and fulfill the town’s magical requirements for departure.

A magical and whimsical place that is designed to resemble a classic Hollywood musical from the 1940s, the town of Schmigadoon is surrounded by lush green forests and rolling hills, with charming buildings and quaint shops lining the streets. Alongside Strong and Key, the beloved first season featured Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, and Jane Krakowski, Dove Cameron and more. Season 1 also featured numerous musical numbers and references to classic Broadway shows, including “Oklahoma!”, “Carousel”, “The Music Man”, and “Brigadoon”, from which the show’s name is derived.

Audiences adored the lively nature, flawless musical numbers, and star studded cast of the first season, and they’re truly in for a treat, as the second season is now streaming. And this time around it’s bigger and better, with the addition of Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page! The all new season slips into a darker light with music from “Chicago,” “Sweeney Todd, “Pippin,” and more, as Melissa and Josh enter the mystical world of Schmigcago.

The cast warmly joked that Jane Krakowski’s performance of Bells and Whistles was the reason that Gwyneth Paltrow got off in her recent ski crash trial, and their adoration of the scene is not at all limited to them. The jaw dropping scene required Krakowski to briefly attend trapeze school in order to stick her miraculous encore. “It required the entire special skills section of my resume,” Krakowski said. “Bells and Whistles, brought to you by Advil!”
The cast shared warm memories of being on set for the second season, including finding out that Aaron Tveit had been nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Moulin Rouge while on set. Key recalled the cast group chat, “The Schmigadoons,” started by Dove Cameron, in which Alan Cumming recalled the many photos that he sent to the chat throughout his day to day adventures.
