Coming this Christmas to the big screen is the hottest new Will Smith project, “Spies in Disguise.” The season’s highly anticipated project is due to be an animation hit and a car lover’s dream come true.
A groundbreaking journey between the team of Audi, Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios has led down a road that will take audiences on a visual trip like nothing they have ever witnessed. Audi has designed the first animated virtual concept car for “Spies in Disguise” with the Audi RSQ e-tron. The car itself becomes a rich character and carries an electrifying voice in the script alongside Smith and fellow voice actor Tom Holland.
Scenes in the film feature high-speed car chases, such as one highlighted moment through the streets of Washington, DC. True to the engineering genius of Audi, the animated car is impressive and beyond realistic. The electric and fully automated RSQ e-tron concept car, designed in close cooperation with Blue Sky Studios, features autopilot mode, as well as visionary design language and futuristic highlights including an amazing hologram speedometer.
“The action-packed super-spy storyline provides us with a creative medium to showcase innovation and technology, and all that is possible with the future of mobility,” says Sven Schuwirth, Vice President Brand Audi, Digital Business, Customer Experience.
The two-seater concept car embodies the visionary design language of the brand perfectly. Audi and the team have made a true breakthrough. It may seem bewildering to have hundreds of experienced animators and storytellers at Blue Sky Studios join forces with a car company, but the marriage was seamless. The union was a force that stirred things up into a magical realm. Audiences will be flabbergasted with the true to life experience of watching the screen and feeling like they are seated in one of the world’s most exciting vehicles.

The animated spy comedy adventure set in the slick, high-octane, globe-trotting world of international espionage becomes much more than just a film with the car. It becomes an epic adventure.
The plot line focuses on spy Lance Sterling (Will Smith) and scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is anything but. Certain events take an unexpected turn and this unlikely duo is forced to team up for the ultimate mission that will require an almost impossible disguise – transforming Lance into the brave, fierce, majestic…pigeon. Yes, a pigeon. The bold script will make you laugh and bring complete joy this holiday season.
“Spies in Disguise” is directed by the fantastic duo Troy Quane and Nick Bruno and from a screenplay by Brad Copeland and Lloyd Taylor and a screen story by Cindy Davis inspired by the animated short film “Pigeon Impossible” by Lucas Martell.
