Spending my New Years Eve at Raines Law Room at The William was a fantastic change of pace.
Having spent many New Years at more raucous parties, it was excited to attend what felt like a more formal gala, a suave black-tie affair that was still welcoming. Everyone looked stellar in their tuxedos and dresses while at the gambling tables, as everyone competed for raffle tickets to win drink tickets and a bottle of Moet Champagne. The floor used four rooms for the event, two for gaming (one of which included a VIP section), a dance floor, and a general area for chatting and drinks.
The casino tables were a lot of fun, mostly focused on blackjack, roulette, and craps. I’ll admit, I still need to actually learn how to play craps, but I was loving blackjack (held a solid hot streak). The food was fantastic, the filet mignon skewers and wagyu sliders were especially savory and flavorful. The house drinks were also excellent, as I was especially a fan of the Amber Old Fashioned and Isla Belle tequila.
As the evening closed into midnight, the dance floor was livening up. While it seemed like most of the guests were enjoyed chatting and playing the casino games, the live DJ was getting the crowd ready for 12am. We gathered our glasses of Moet Champaign, which was actually quite refreshing, along with some delicious cake pops. By midnight, the scene erupted in a wave of cheers and clinking classes. Overall, Raine’s Law Room provided an absolutely lovely new years evening.
