The 84th Annual Drama League Awards have announced their nominations today, the winners to be awarded on May 18th.

The nominations for the Drama League Awards were announced and they present an outstanding mix of works from on and off Broadway. The announcements were made by performers Harriet Harris, Julie White and Christopher Sieber, all Tony-nominated actors and actresses. The Drama League awards the best plays and musicals of the year, original and revival, as well as the coveted Distinguished Performance Award, which is competed on by men and women equally in all sizes of roles and can be won only one time in a performer’s career. The ceremony will be held on May 18th.

Already announced were the three special honorees for the ceremony. Actress Idina Menzel will be given the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award, director Casey Nicholaw will receive The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing, and the National Endowment for the Arts will be honored with the Unique Contribution to the Theater Award.
