Noah Wyle, as well as “The Pitt” producers R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells, spoke exclusively to The Knockturnal about George Clooney’s recent comment to Entertainment Tonight that he would rejoin his old ER costar “in a heartbeat.”

“That was funny that he mentioned that,” Wyle said with a smile. “It’s very flattering the things he’s been saying out there on his own press line, doing incredible work in his own movie.”

“It’s lovely that after 30 plus years, we could still be mutually supportive of each other’s work in roads,” he added. “And, you know, any chance I get to be around him, it’s always a joy.”

John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill smiled bigger when commenting on this, “We’re on stage 22 at Warner’s. We were on we were on stage 11 when we did ER for all those years. He knows where to find us.”

“Come on over. We got uh we got lots of scrubs, George. Just show up.” Wells added with a laugh.

Clooney’s comments came via Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet premiere of Jay Kelly, where he said he’d join Wyle “in a heartbeat” and expressed pride in his old costar.

“It is his show and I don’t want to interrupt” Clooney made a point to emphasize to Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier, “But I am deeply proud of him — if I’m allowed to be proud of him — because what a beautiful show it is and what a great success it has been.”

“And what a fun thing to have him continue on in the tradition.” he continued.

HBO’s Casey Bloys also addressed the buzz in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “Obviously, sure, he’s welcome,” while noting that nothing official is in the works.

The Pitt, which drew 10 million viewers per episode during its first season and won several Emmy Awards and Critics Choice Awards, returns this week for season two. The new season premieres on Thursday, January 8 at 9:00 PM EST on HBO Max, with new episodes dropping weekly.
