The Ned Nomad’s weekly comedy show for members and guests featured a surprise appearance by SNL’s Leslie Jones.
Every week, the Magic Room at the Ned Nomad becomes the venue for Mike Young’s Night at The Ned, a comedy show with past notable attendees and comedians such as Michael Rapaport, TJ Miller, Jeffrey Ross, Chris Rock, Robin Thicke, and more.
The comedy show is headlined and curated by Mike Young, a notable comedian, former writer from Entourage, and has toured with talent like Bob Saget, Dave Chappelle, and Sebastian Maniscalco, and more.
To open Mike’s show, American Idol finalist Sam Woolf took the stage and performed a two song acoustic, which culminated in the crowd all singing “Hey Jude” alongside him. Following the applause, the night’s emcee, Sienna Hubert Ross, opened with a monologue before introducing the first comedian of the night: Chanel Omari, who hosts the iHeart Radio podcast “Chanel in the City”.
Following Omari was none other than SNL’s Leslie Jones. Her attendance was a complete surprise but was nonetheless welcomed with cheers and gasps of excitement from the audience. Jones’s raunchy humor was well received and hearty laughter was heard across tables as she paced the room.
Following Jones were Luke Mones, Zahid Dewji, a writer for the Tonight Show, and Seaton Smith. The room was in laughter the entire time, and members from the main jazz club kept rolling in as they heard the buzz coming from the second floor of the hotel and members club. Finally, Mike Young closed the show and the space was transformed into a DJ spot until late into the night.
Night at The Ned‘s next show is September 27 and will be weekly on Wednesdays thereafter.
