Last week, NFT:LA hosted an event at the Wisdome LA eaturing local artists as well as Rock Supergroup Think: X.
THINK:NFT Presents BEYOND THE WALL, A 360 immersive exploration of the music of Pink Floyd performed by Super Group “Think: X” featuring Scott Page (Pink Floyd), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), Kenny Olson (Kid Rock), and Roberta Freeman (Guns N’ Roses).
In addition to the concert, there was an interactive art exhibition, set up in five domes around the small area, all connected to each other for a full interactive experience. In one dome was a concert stage, set up with 16 projectors.
I was lucky enough to speak with the Director of the concert Don Wilson who, along with his team set up all the projectors in the dome. He said that each projector was at slightly different heights in order to create a 3D effect for the videos playing. Each video that projected across the dome was synced with the song, displaying various images that related to the content and feeling of each song performed.
A concert in this setting was honestly incredible, it made me feel like I was actually there. For the entire two hour performance I didn’t take my eyes off the stage, falling into a trance as Think: X played songs from The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, and other Pink Floyd classics. Lastly, they dedicated “Wish You Were Here” to the late Taylor Hawkins, the legendary drummer for the Foo Fighters who recently passed away.
Also featured was a joint collaboration between Arthur J. Williams Jr., Scott Page, saxophonist for Pink Floyd and THINK:NFT founder, and artist photographer Jamie Weiland. It featured a ton of vintage rock photography including Mick Jagger and Pink Floyd. Arthur J. Williams, world renowned artist, showed his collection as well, including his classic, The Hundred Dollar Bill. In addition, some of the local artists included Jonathan Ovadia, a local painter whose artwork was honestly incredible. You can follow him at @jonathan_ovadia on Instagram if you want to see more of what he has to offer.
All in all, it was an incredible event and if you get the chance you should definitely go and see them whether or not you enjoy classic rock. If you’re a Pink Floyd Fan, it’s not something you want to miss. The next event is April 29-39, so click the link below to get your tickets! Here are some pictures from that night:
