Get ready for a new look into the life of the late Tupac Shakur.
Shakur’s recording career ended after only 5 years, yet he is one of the most influential artists in hip-hop history. He sold over 75 million records world wide and his Greatest Hits collection and his 1996 album, All Eyez On Me, have been certified diamond with sales of over 10 million for each record. Early this year, Tupac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the first solo hip-hop artist to be recognized. Shakur is also known for starring in the films Juice, Poetic Justice, Above the Rim and more.
The Shakur estate has fully authorized a documentary on the life and times of Tupac Shakur. The film will be directed by Academy Award winner Steve McQueen and produced by White Horse Pictures’ Nigel Sinclair, Jayson Jackson, and Amaru Entertainment. Alongside Shakur Estate Trustee Tom Whalley and White Horse’s Jeanne Elfant Festa, Shakur’s aunt and Afeni Shakur’s only sister will work to executive produce the film. Being that all of the producers and directors of the film have won awards for numerous projects, it is safe to say that this documentary will be one for the books.
