Hailing from Kingston, the vibrant capital city of Jamaica, David Martson and Sarah Couch draw inspiration from the city’s rich cultural landscape. The pair have turned heads and ears worlwide with their blend of riddim-tinged electronica with worldly future-R&B. Their anxiously-awaited debut album Castle With a View is an enlightened 12-track triumph with an infectious electronic edge. A bold reminder of Jamaica’s influence on modern music, Dejavilla’s album pays homage to the small yet world-renowned island.
CHAE – ON & ON
Continuing her debut solo EP rollout, multifaceted talent chae is back with a new single, “On & On”. The latest from the Los Angeles-based contemporary R&B singer-songwriter brings forth a longing, yearnful feeling with diaphanous vocals and sultry instrumentation. “On & On” explores chae’s journey as she searches for inner healing and someone to share love and life with. Through the track, she shows us the strength of wearing your heart on your sleeve and the power that holds. Using her emotive lyricism and soulful vocals, “On & On’ serves as a stellar addition to chae’s discography as she unfolds her story of self-acceptance and growth. Entrenched with gratitude and raw feminine energy, the resonating cut places chae as an artist to watch as she continues to share her creative expression of some of the most formative moments of her life.
BESOMORPH x LUCIFER – HOLY WATER (FT. MARY JENSEN)
Having risen through the ranks with his dark melodic take on electronica, Besomorph has quickly established himself as one of Germany’s most streamed electronic artists. With over 650 million streams across all platforms, it’s safe to say that the LA-based production wizard is a master of his craft. Following a brief hiatus, his latest single, “Holy Water,” sees him team up with Lucifer for a slamming Brazilian Bass/Slap House cut. “Holy Water” features everything listeners have come to know and love from the talent: a catchy bassline, immersive topline, and a dose of sonic joy.
THOMAS XAVIER – GOOD DOME EP [PHARAOH PHONIX]
Showing no signs of slowing down, Thomas Xavier returns with his 3rd EP in the past 6 months with Good Dome EP. His latest project maintains his signature enriched house feel, while injecting a new level of salacious sounds. “Flex Yo Freak,” wastes no time bringing infectious house vibes straight to the soul. Perhaps one of his most technical, most detailed, and hybrid-focused releases ever made, the track urges the body to move with thick basslines and a groovy mood. The titular track builds upon the mood of the previous track, but takes the idea to the next level. Exuding a sense of power and strength, Thomas Xavier has rendered a single perfect for a peak moment in a set. Ferocious basslines overwhelm the senses as classic house-influenced vocal samples put the mind in a trance and the body in motion.
