BAKERMAT – AIN’T NOBODY FT. LASHUN PACE [ULTRA MUSIC]
Combining musical elements that span across the entire sound spectrum, Bakermat blends unsuspecting genres to define his signature bravado. Raised in a music-centric home by an opera singing mother and jazz enthusiast father, Bakermat’s formative years were spent gathering inspiration from some of music’s most pure sounds. Serving old-school funk fans and new-age house heads alike, Bakermat is a one-of-a-kind producer with an unmatched energy. On a mission to craft unprecedented soundscapes, the Amsterdam artist returns with “Ain’t Nobody” the lead single to his forthcoming studio album The Spirit. A euphoric get-down that fans of Bakermat are sure to revel in, “Ain’t Nobody” is a small part of a bigger picture expected to come to life this June.
NOTAKER – ECHELON
Notaker is back with another ripping single, “Echelon”. The St. Louis-based producer’s latest opens with an impactful electro line, and shifts into experimental territory. Proving that versatility is the key to his longevity, “Echelon” echoes Notaker’s affinity for glitch-driven melodies and midtempo swirls. From the get-go, a sizzling synth line begins working into focus alongside atmospheric elements. The midtempo cut breaks into a raspy riff that channels Notaker’s signature otherworldly pulsating synth touch. As soon as the production kicks into high gear, soothing keys usher in an entirely new feeling to the track, eventually blossoming into an uplifting wall of choral and synth chord work. Once more, “Echelon” bursts into a full-fledged dance anthem, this time utilizing a sharp contrast between the ethereal melodies and abrasive glitches. By the time it’s through, “Echelon” touches on countless electronic influences and showcases the gifted creative’s adventurous side.
HYPER – IMPACT WEAPON [MAU5TRAP]
A dance music visionary with worldwide scope, London-born creative Hyper scores some of the most defining moments in sound, including Blade Runner 2049 and the official 2018 E3 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. Inspired by social justice movements in his current home of Seattle, Washington, Hyper details a time of political and racial unrest in “Impact Weapon.” Sourcing actual audio from one of the Black Lives Matter protests in his town, Hyper’s mau5trap debut builds impactful tension, unfurling into a cacophony of industrial synth work. Utilizing foreboding instrumentation to masterfully convey feelings of both unrest and empowerment, Hyper’s “Impact Weapon” is both reflective and introspective, all the while coated in unique industrial dance flair. A sonic fusion of dramatic composition and impactful words for the now, Hyper’s mau5trap debut is an enthralling journey from its first note to its last, and comes at a pivotal moment in time.
