With an active tech generation it’s the best time for a variety of musicians to get their name out to the public, which feeds into a music lover’s panic: what good music am I missing out on?
If you look at heavily populated cities like New York and Los Angeles the musically talented are everywhere to be found. One particularly young band that’s been picking up steam has been Great Good Fine Ok (GGFO). Jon Sandler and Luke Moellman, both New York natives that met when living nearby each other in Brooklyn, created the band. In 2013 the duo released their first EP consisting of just four songs one of which, “You’re The One For Me”, garnered immense online popularity for the duo. In that year the duo also performed their first seven shows at SXSW (South by Southwest) and caught the attention of label execs. Soon afterwards they signed on with Neon Gold Records/Epic Records and Transgressive Records/Warner/Chappell Music publishing.
Backed by youthful labels that cater to refreshing the indie genre the band released their second EP in 2014 called 2M2H that was licensed by Ultra Music landing them at #10 on iTunes Dance Chart. In the beginning of 2014 the duo grew as Tristan Clopet joined the band as their backup vocals and bass guitar/synthesizer player.
The young band may still be green in the music industry but their playful nature and refreshing atmosphere doesn’t go unnoticed. With an active presence on social media the band regularly keeps in touch with fans and thanks them for their support. Their genuine attitude and upbeat music pull in crowds that plan on staying with the group.
The band has spent 2015 touring all across America and can be seen in their home of Brooklyn in March. Grab your tickets soon as this Brooklyn band grows their fan base because Great Good Fine Ok won’t be “low-key” for that much longer.
