Missy Elliott will be honored during the “All Hail The Queens” edition of VH1 Hip Hop Honors.
After a six-year break VH1 Hip Hop Honors is back with “All Hail The Queens” edition, recognizing the most influential ladies of Hip Hop. The network announced that multi-Grammy-winning that Missy Elliott will be recognized for her writer/producer accomplishments in the music industry. Pharrell, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Remy Ma, Trina, Eve, Tweet, Keyshia Cole, Raven Symone, Monica, Fantasia and Jazmine Sullivan and more will all honor the groundbreaking artist.
Missy has maintained a continuous success for over three decades. All of her albums have been RIAA platinum certified (or better), making her the only female artist to achieve this. Moreover, the rapper has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and throughout her whole career she’s stayed on top of the game with innovative sounds and groundbreaking videos. Her most recent single “WTF (Where They From)” reached over 40 million YouTube views.
VH1 HIP HOP HONORS: ALL HAIL THE QUEENS will air Monday, July 11th at 9PM ET LIVE from New York’s David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. The show will be hosted by Eve and is also set to honor Queen Latifah.
