Memphis, Tennessee celebrates its music scene and southern culture through their Memphis Tourism partnership A Deep Water Sound, a ten-city tour featuring Talibah Safiya. The Deep Water sound tour is an intimate concert experience in a rent party, juke joint setting with 30 to 40 attendees in a unique venue.
This multi-city tour is used as a way to showcase the essence of Memphis talent. Each city features a live performance, DJ sets and tons of inspiration between the audience and the artist. Headliner, Talibah Safiya is an independent Memphis soul artist and a captivating storyteller who’s been using her artistry to touch the lives of many since 2011. Talibah is currently working on her debut album, where she will continue to work towards mastering self-love and romance and a single titled “Healing Creek” a song about self-discovery and self-performed baptism.
The evening of festivities for this event began with a family style supper at Root & Bone, a restaurant that specializes in southern food from biscuits, classic mac and cheese to crispy fried chicken that accentuates the authentic taste of Memphis cuisine. The night came to a close with a stunning performance by Memphis musician Talibah Safiya and songstress, She’Chinah who first appeared on The Radar with the release of her debut single from her EP titled Solitare. Both artists tore the house down and commanded the stage like no other while engaged authentically with their deep emotions and expressing themselves unapologetically, leaving the audience in awe and begging for more. Between the food, energetic people and good soul music it’s no doubt that Memphis Tennessee is the place to be.
