Meet the newest artist on Def Jam’s roster, Earl St. Clair!
Last week Def Jam Recordings and Circa 13 hosted an intimate showcase at the Bowery Electric in New York, introducing singer Earl St. Clair. Earl hails from Alabama and his music transports you to the days of his musical inspirations B.B. King and Sam Cooke. You don’t often find many modern day Blues singers with such an artistic and vocal range like Earl, who’ve worked with artists like Bibi Bourelly on their hit single “Perfect” which they recently performed on The Late Show. Earl’s also worked with the likes of Avicii, Rick Ross and Machine Gun Kelly. From songwriting to vocals, Earl truly lives and breathes music, even his style makes you nostalgic for southern soul music.
His sound is a fusion of soul, blues and funk which perfectly compliments his husky voice. At the showcase, Earl performed a few of his hits, while showing off his dance moves and energetic spirit. Earl is not only a singer, but a born performer as well, his comfort on stage will have you thinking he’s a natural. The show itself was fun and after the performance Def Jam and Circa 13 premiered the music video accompanying Earl’s single “Man On Fire.” Earl St. Clair is a refreshing new talent who reminds us of the timelessness of the Blues and soul in an era where 808s, autotune, and bubblegum trap reign supreme.
