What were the odds I’d love this show? High!
The second season of Bookie, Max’s wry and raunchy show about the wild world of sports betting premiered today to rave reviews.
Sebastian Falco (Danny) and Omar J. Dorsey (Ray) headline the show and have instant chemistry. Will that continue in season 2? I wouldn’t roulette out.
Not sure that one worked.
The two traverse LA collecting debts and bets, visiting baby mamas and side chicks and trying to keep their families together.
I binged season one last night with ease because of the show’s rapid fire jokes and quickly-developing plotlines. It’s like there’s a villain of the week but also character development throughout.
The show stars strutted down a West Hollywood red carpet with wads of fake cash in tow. Of all the carpets I’ve covered in 12 years, this was the most intimate. And by that I mean it was packed to the gills with both stars and reporters.
The sweaty environment lead to off-the-cuff answers, candid confessions and snappy one-liners.
Sadly I couldn’t get Sebastian to confess to hating Modesto. Win some lose some.
The good folks at Max screamed the first two episodes of season two, and if the audiences reaction is any indication, this one’s gonna be bigger than ever. The second episode ended to rapturous applause and those whistles where people put two fingers in their mouths.
Get into Bookie if you like fun. You’ll be OVER the moon in UNDER one episode.
