Max celebrated “The Art of Drag” Pop-Up Truck Tour experience for two days at Miami Art Week 2023. The colorful activation was powered by Max’s Human By Orientation, the app’s initiative that is designed to elevate, celebrate and shine a positive light on the LGBTQIA+ community.

The two stops on the tour included Palace Bar in South Beach and in the Arts District’s R House Wynwood, both iconic meccas for Drag. Both days included drag brunch sittings and dozens of free drag makeovers for attendees, pop-up performances, product giveaways and more. The truck served as a traveling art installation featuring original artwork by Mithsuca Berry that celebrates the art of drag.

Max is consistently honoring and promoting queer artists throughout the year, and this was another special way to celebrate Miami’s vibrant queer community and expand on the huge impact the drag and queer art has on both the local community and visitors alike. The pop-truck tour was inspired by the drag programming on Max – including award-winning HBO Original unscripted series “We’re Here” and the renovation show “Trixie Motel.”

To get in the spirit of Miami, special performances and appearances by Florida native and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” favorite Latrice Royale, who will also star in season four of “We’re Here” along with fellow “Drag Race” alums Jaida Essence Hall, Sasha Velour, and Priyanka. Also bringing sunshine to the event was Athena Dion, featuring makeovers by Morphine Love Dion, FKA TWINK, and Jasmine Lords.

The Knockturnal team witnessed the brilliant and artistic performances at The Palace which sits right across from the ocean and several of the Art Basel tents. We were graced with an engaging audience and showstopping numbers by resident Queens. Fans were clacking, mimosas were flowing, and the ladies did their thing throughout the entire brunch. We proudly rocked our Drag makeup the rest of the day as we viewed art and attended other events around Miami. Glitter power, baby.
