Husband and wife, Shireen Thor and Arni Thor launched Maria Shireen in May 2015. Since the launch, the brand has sold over 100,000 bracelets in 40 countries worldwide. The simple solution is both stylish and brilliant. As opposed to having your elastic hair ties around your wrist, the ties then go around the bracelets instead leaving your wrists comfortable and stylish.
The bracelets come in three collections: b+sweet, bittersweet, and the signature collection. The b+sweet comes in two sizes: kids and tween. The BPA free plastic bracelets are $20 each. The signature collection comes in three finishes (stainless steel with silver ionized pleated finish, stainless steel with rose gold ionized plated finish, and stainless steel with gold ionized plated finish) and are $60 each. The bittersweet collection has two price points. The $45 bittersweet bracelets come in stainless steal with silver ionized plated finish, stainless steel with rose gold ionized plated finish, and stainless steel with gold ionized plated finish. The $85 bittersweet bracelets come in three finishes: 925 sterling silver, 925 sterling silver with 22K rose gold plating, 925 sterling silver with 22K gold plating.
Shireen cited her previous engineering experience as inspiration for the collection, She stated, “Having worked in orthopedic product development for the past few years, it truly made me passionate about the impact one can have on other people’s lives through design.”
