In partnership with New York Fashion week, Marcel Ostertag held his Fall and Winter 2017 collection runway show called Revolution at the Skylight Clarkson Square.
Lending to the title of the collection, Ostertag states, “My Revolution is your revolution driven by change. Whipped up from far away without forgetting origin and home. Proud of the past, alert towards the future, my revolution is the revolution of fashion. Get up, you strong and wonderful creature and show the uniform your fist. Fight against being the same and revolutionize yourself with your courage and your personality. The time has come to finally be who you have always been: Yourself.”
Each article of clothing was unique with elaborately crafted details. Some of the pieces are made from wind and weather-resistant material. Ostertag juxtaposed masculine-inspired coats and parkers with swinging dresses and draped silk pieces. Marcel is proud of his heritage, based in Berlin he has all his pieces made in Germany. Despite increased popularity, Ostertag remains loyal to his German manufacturers and keeps strong partnerships with them. One showcased accessory in this season’s collection is a red-beige striped belt which honors of Ostertag’s 10 years in the industry. This signature piece first debuted in his Spring and Summer collection back in 2007. Currently sold in 28 countries in the European market, Marcel has also teamed up with TAMARIS to bring 9 shoe and 9 handbag designs to his collection called Capsule. In the hair and beauty sector, Marcel has teamed up with NYX and REDKEN.
