French interior store Madura hosted an opening cocktail reception at their new store in the Flatiron District on Sept. 14.
The new store, located at 909 Broadway, is their second in New York City. Guests got to enjoy Madura’s young, colorful designs on the first two floors or relax on the third floor. Once at the top guests were greeted with a DJ playing electronic remixes of songs old ad new. The DJ set the vibe of a casual and talkative scene with guests lounging on comfortable couches and chairs sipping mixed drinks or champagne from the bar. Everything was softly lit with colors corresponding to the pillows and exposed fairy lights.
Much of the décor was a departure from the very popular minimalist trend seen today. Vibrant pinks were offset by soft yellows and blues in their pillows including ones filled with peacocks. This tropical theme was inspired by girls living in Hawaii, as shown by a mood board pinned up on the wall, filled with surfboards, indigenous animals and pictures of the beach. Another nature inspired theme included animals of the forest and more neutral tones of blue and green. Madura is sure to attract the fun loving you adults of the city.
