Republic Records released Retrospective: The Music of MAD MEN in partnership with Chop Shop Records and Lions Gate Entertainment.
Retrospective: The Music of MAD MEN is an official soundtrack to the EMMY winning AMC series. The album is a nod to the ’60s era the show is set in, including artists of the time as well as songs from two of the actors from the show. The album is available at all digital retailers Oct. 9.
The album features well known hits from Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys and Nancy Sinatra. Robert Morse who plays Betram Cooper in MAD MEN performs “The Best Things In Life are Free” on the album. Christina Hendricks, known on the show as Joan Harris or Holloway, makes an appearance singing “C’est Magnifique.”
MAD MEN fans will also get the chance to get their hands on MAD MEN: The Complete Collection Gift Set and MAD MEN: The Final Season, Part 2 on Oct. 13 from Lions Gate Home Entertainment. A special limited edition set of a 12″ vinyl of the album and a Crosley Executive turntable is also available on Republic Records’ site.
Curating hits from the 1960s with the addition of modern voices, the MAD MEN soundtrack is sure to be a complement to the sleek and seductive show.
