In celebration of his latest album “General Admission,” Machine Gun Kelly temed up with SlamxHype for a special listening party to preview tracks on the album.
General Admission is Kelly’s first album in three years and is the follow-up to his 2012 debut Lace Up. During the album listening Kelly performed a few select tracks including, “”Till I Die” “Alpha Omega”, and “Bad Motherf***er” (featuring Kid Rock). The album also features guest appearances from up and coming lesser-known artists like Victoria Monét, Leroy Sanchez, and Lzzy Hale. The album features production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Narcotics, and Jim Jonsin.
Speaking on the album’s direction, MGK said in an interview, “There were some points leading up to this album where we were panicking because we didn’t think we had the right content or we weren’t prepared, I felt like the pressure is either gonna fold you or make a diamond. Now here we are and I couldn’t be more proud of who I am and what we’ve accomplished.”
The Cleveland bred rapper also explained the personal meaning of the album’s lead single “Till I Die”, saying, “”This city is a huge reason why a song will blow up because everybody from the 60-year-olds to the kids in school are all listening to it, and they branch off. They have such a high pride for Cleveland. When I want to be back in the streets and feel that same grimy, hungry feeling that I had before I got my deal, I can just go back to my hood and the streets we came up on.”
MGK is currently touring the states on his “Road Trippin’” tour, which kicked off in July. The international leg of the tour kicks off Nov. 10 in Moscow, and wraps Nov. 30 in London.
