A Look Inside Interactive Art Exhibition: 29Rooms

Refinery29’s multi-sensory playground  29Rooms returned to New York Fashion Week.

Fashion Week is known for runway shows and presentations, high-profile events, and exclusive after parties but that’s not all the busy week has to offer.  As art is an essential part of fashion it’s no wonder, attending the latest art events have become increasingly popular amongst fashion week goers.  Refinery29 is right on board with this growing trend. The Digital media leader created an interactive art exhibition that doubles as a funhouse for adults.  29Rooms is held biannual during the #nyfw seasons.  The event fuses fashion, style, culture, music, and technology through art.  This season marked its 3rd installment.  Tickets were up for purchase and sold out shortly after going on sale.

The theme behind this year’s event was “Turn It Into Art”.  This theme celebrated the power of creativity in its ability to transform social issues into art and drive positive change.  29Rooms was created in collaboration with global artists and visionaries including: Jake Gyllenhaal, Jill Soloway’s Topple, Emma Roberts & her Belletrist book community, Sasheer Zamata, Chloe x Halle, Cleo Wade, Alexa Meade, Lizzo, Maisie Cousins, Juno Calypso, Madame Gandhi, The Art of Elysium, and Women’s March, as well as brand partnerships with: Aldo, Clarins, Dunkin Donuts, Dyson, Juicy Couture Fragrance, Ulta Beauty, and Cadillac x Jason Wu.

29Rooms is not just your most instagramable moment at the hottest art event, well it is that plus so much more.  29Rooms is a truly immense full experience which engulfs you into a whirlwind of emotions and ignites all of your senses.

Inspirational, Thought Provoking, Therapeutic, Encouraging, Healing, Empowering – This is 29Rooms.

Overall 29Rooms was an amazing experience.  At every room and instalation their was something new to discover, not just within the art but within myself as well.  It gave me the chance to be apart of art, practice self-expression, and explore my creativity in new ways.  If you missed it be sure to follow both 29Rooms and Refinery29 on Instagram to stay updated.  29Rooms will be heading to Los Angeles for the first time this December.
