In true Lilly Pulitzer fashion, tanned women in colorful summery printed dresses and effortlessly wavy hair gathered at the Sky Room at New Museum for the presentation of its Resort Collection 2016.
Prints were still very much in the iconic parsley style but with a few 70s touches that elevated the print to a much more modern level. Some fabrics followed an oceanic theme, basing itself on silhouettes of shells, coral reefs and even Palm trees in such a subtle way that it looked like a beautiful abstract work of art.
Guests sampled a very summery drink made of vodka and strawberry lemonade. Our favorite looks were an aqua and magenta printed long dress and a sea motif embroidered white dress with striped white and gold lining. The collection was of coursed accompanied by by floppy hats, beachy waves, and 60’s makeup.
All the ensembles are perfect for any South Hampton brunch, and a few pieces are perfect for any chic white party.
After a while models as well as guests started dancing to Cedric Gervais’ “Summertime Sadness” remix and were definitely ready to flyaway to a tropical sandy location.
