It’s almost that time of the year again. No we’re not talking about Valentine’s Day, we’re talking New York Fashion week! Before the top designers hit the runway to show off their latest collections, we have a sneak preview of whats to come. Well sort of … we have their inspirations.
Check out the inspirations from Banana Republic, BCBG, Marissa Webb, O’2nd, Concept Korea, Fashion Hong Kong and more below:
Designer Marissa Webb was inspired by “Dandizette.”
When Milk Studios throws a party, they throw a party [as if their fashion shows aren’t crazy enough]. The invite warned it was going to be a “rager”, which seemed to be an understatement after Leikeli47, Salt-n-Pepa, and Santigold took the stage. It seemed to be an appropriate introduction to Milk’s new line of makeup featuring bold palettes and colors that take the wearer off the beaten path.
The night began hours before the start time of 9 p.m. for some, as the line stretched far past the gates as we arrived. Both hopeful attendees swarmed the velvet ropes while the bouncers attempted to clear the growing mosh pit outside the door.
As we were escorted inside, it became increasingly evident that this was no ordinary mix and mingle event.
With custom drinks featuring Jameson and Absolut leading off the night [aptly coined “RAVE” and “VIBES”, respectively], aggressively strobing videos featuring shots of dancers and models flooded the walls with energy. By 10 o’clock, the room was bustling with anticipation for the acts.
Leikeli47 opened with her youtube hit “F**k the Summer Up” which set the night off in an irreversible direction, ending in a lobby littered with crushed Pabst cans, shattered plastic cups, and a room full of drunk, happy, dancing, industry professionals.
Actress, singer and model Zoë Kravitz and musician Samantha Urbani hosted the evening, alongside Milk Makeup co-founders Mazdack Rassi, beauty and fashion editor Zanna Roberts Rassi, creative director Georgie Greville and product developer Dianna Ruth. VIP guests included: Jaden Smith, Chloe Norgaard, Devon Windsor, Chelsea Leyland and more.
