Power Book 2: Ghost, the spinoff of Starz hit show, Power has introduced a new lead cast that just might take us on an even crazier ride than the original.
Fans of the Power series tuned in each week to catch the endless drama and constant thrills in the big rich town of New York City, but what can be expected now that the lead character, Ghost is dead and his strong-willed wife, Tasha is in prison?
Tariq St. Patrick [Michael Rainey Jr.], the son of Ghost is on his own this season and with him comes a brand-new leading cast including his college roommate from previous episodes of Power, Brayden Weston [Gianni Paolo]. If you recall, Brayden was Tariqβs roommate in season 5 of Power who wanted to buy pills which then lead him to become Tariqβs partner in crime in their small campus run drug business. Now Brayden and Tariq have reunited in Power Book 2: Ghost to cause some trouble. Could this be the new Ghost and Tommy drug lord duo? βOur relationship is very similar in that sense,β states Paolo.
The cast is rather tight lipped on the new dynamic of the series, understandably after executive producer Curtis ’50 Centβ Jackson spoiled the fact that Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo would be leads in the spinoff series. While some fans were excited to welcome back Rainey and Paoloβs characters, others were apprehensive and questionable about the new, younger cast. Can Power Book 2: GhostΒ live up to the high expectations set by Power? βIt is Power, if not a little crazier but it has this youthful vibe to it that isnβt so much Power as it was originally, but itβs this new fresh take on Power which is what I love about Ghost so much,β explains Paolo.
The highly anticipated new series will premiere on Starz on September 6. Be sure to check it out as well as The Knockturnalβs exclusive interview with leading cast member, Gianni Paolo.
