KOSINE hosted a live screening/listening event to celebrate the release of his highly anticipated EP “Truth Serum” at Neuehouse Hollywood. The 9x GRAMMY Nominated Producer and Rapper is solidifying his role as a recording artist with his latest project expressing his personal ideology towards cultural themes around Relationships, Black Lives Matter and navigating the rise + fall of a career.
“Truth Serum” has 7 tracks and 2 interludes, each showcasing his artistic range as he utilizes his unique sound for both Rap and R&B. In addition the EP which is set to release on May 7, attendees enjoyed an exclusive premiere of the short film screening. KOSINE starred in the short film accompanied by the Los Angeles native model/actress Bria Myles. After the screening, everyone got a chance to dig deeper with a Q&A panel with Kosine and EP collaborators like Leon Thomas who is featured on the hit single “Settle”.
KOSINE embraces his inhibitions in this EP by making his personal thoughts, emotions and consciousness the focal point and purpose of the project as a whole. Truth Serum is defined as a drug supposedly able to induce a state in which a person answers questions truthfully. In KOSINE’s case, the beat is his drug and the lyrics are his truth. In his own words: “If my mama could see me now… Pearl’s Son is dropping his debut project!! Truth Serum is my coming of age story as an Afro-Latino man navigating these treacherous waters minus any real childhood friends or family. Today my heart is full and I’m grateful for the healing that comes through sharing your testimony.”
The event was full of laughter, great vibes and food catered from local Latin restaurant, Broken Spanish. Only fitting for KOSINE who is of Panamanian and Guatemalan descent. Be sure to follow KOSINE on all social platforms and stream/share his latest project “Truth Serum”.
