The Knockturnal had the opportunity to attend the Yellowjackets Season 2 Emmy FYC Event at the Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angeles. Showtime’s psychological drama was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson and follows a high school soccer team that survives a plane crash in the desolate Canadian wilderness.
The team struggles with their psyches as their relationships with each other are tested, and the conditions of the Canadian winter worsen. The team wrestles with the reality of what surviving will entail. The teen cast is played by Samantha Hanratty as teen Misty, Jasmin Savoy as teen Taissa, Sophie Nalisse as teen Shauna, Courtney Eaton as young Lottie, Liv Hewson as young Vanessa and Sophia Thatcher as Natalie. Season 2 portrays the characters’ lives 25 years after the plane crash. This aspect of the show reveals how the traumatic experience continues to affect their lives. The adult counterparts of the teenage characters play a significant role in uncovering the truth about their survival and provide insights into the long-term consequences of the ordeal. The adult cast includes actors Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Juliette Lewis playing the character’s parallel timeline 25 years later. The Knockturnal had the opportunity to ask with the younger cast and their adult counterparts how they felt about their upcoming finale, and how they destress after filming an intense, dark show. Following the red carpet, we were able to attend a screening and view a panel of the cast discussing the shocking twists and turns as the season wraps up. The Knockturnal had a wonderful evening at the Hollywood Athletic Club and are thrilled to watch the finale of Yellowjackets!
