A psychological, action, thriller that people are talking about
On Monday, April 11, was the NYC premiere of the new movie Criminal, starring Kevin Costner. This psychological, action-packed movie has such a star studded cast including Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. Many stars came out for this premiere and we got to interview a few of them about this movie and more.
Emily Tyra:
Q: Looking at this amazing cast for this film, who are you most excited to see on screen?
A: I mean, I am a huge Tommy Lee Jones fan. The last thing I saw him in was The Homesman which completely blew me away. I feel like he is just so versatile but he still has his own voice of character all the time so I am pretty excited to see what he does in this one. You got two pretty hot ladies here too which I am pretty excited about. And Kevin Costner too, just iconic.
Q: If you could any genre of film or television then what would you explore next?
A: I love comedy so the next step, considering I just came off of a very dark series not too long ago, I would prefer to go in that direction. Fart jokes and things like that would be a fun time for me.
Q: Who would you love to work with then?
A: Oh my gosh, Amy Poehler.
Q: Anything new coming up for you next?
A: Can’t reveal yet but right now I am taking a little break and enjoying NYC.
Q: And what are you most excited about for this movie?
A: I am so excited to go on the ride with it. It feels like it is going to be very action-packed and sort of suspenseful; thriller-esque and I love movies like that. I’ll be in for a wild ride.
Kevin Costner:
Q: With so many big names on this set, how was it like working with all of them?
A: Well, you understand that they have earned their measure of respect nationally and internationally and then you count on that professionalism to carry into the movie and we tried to pull this movie off. We have a couple of leaps of faith where this movie is concerned and then we lead on the acting. We are out there faking it as good as we can so it looks really real.
Q: And how was it like playing this character that has the memories of another character?
A: I had to take that into consideration and sometimes it didn’t help the situation I was involved in and so then it was my obligation to play that moment with a level of confusion or a level of vulnerability. Or sometimes it informed me on how to get through something. But, whenever it didn’t, the character always came back to being a criminal with those instincts.
Vicky Jeudy:
Q: With such a star studded cast, who are you most excited to see on screen?
A: Kevin Costner. And I love Tommy Lee Jones. I am excited to see Gal. I actually looked her up in terms of being from Israel and so I am actually very excited.
Q: And what are you looking forward to the most with seeing this film?
A: I love action, I love the fact that it’s psychological too. I just don’t know what to expect but I am a big action type of gal.
Q: I know you can’t talk about the plot of the next season of Orange is the New Black, but can you talk about how it was like filming this upcoming season?
A: Filming season 4, there was so much intensity. Literally, my heart would stop while taping the scenes. There are a lot of emotional things going on. Lots of drama.
Q: And anything else coming up for you that you would like to share?
A: Well, I have a movie called Armstrong coming out so I am pretty excited about that.
