Josie Natori’s 2016 Spring and Summer collection featured a combination of modern, vintage and Asian Influences with splashed of bold colors and striking patterns.Josie Natori drew on Asian influences to create this line which was presented in The Space at the Skylight Clarkson Sq. in West Soho this NYFW. The collection included beautiful raw silk gowns and kimonos that were daring yet elegant. The looks ranged from embroidered cocktail dresses to kimono and wide-legged pant ensembles that captured a modern, international style with some classic vintage influences.
Models’ hair and make-up was exaggerated, with deep parts and a moused side-swept hairline that suited the raw, expressive eye make-up that was a bold play on the trendy cat eye. The looks were styled with thin strappy heels that played up the intricacy of the clothing and the attention to detail. Chunky earrings contrasted the light, fun clothing to show a more formal aspect to the clothes. The pops of bright color within the collection are visibly pleasing with a good mixture of classic black and white as well. The collection is present without being overwhelming and it is fun and youthful while still being mature and graceful.
