The event celebrated a groundbreaking achievement for the iconic American brand.
In the heart of New York City, Jeep pulled back the curtain on its first global electric vehicle, the Wagoneer S. Taking place at the historical and elegant Altman Building attendees partook in an exclusive rendezvous with the future – the Jeep Wagoneer S EV.
For Jeep, the Wagoneer marks a shift towards sustainability while upholding a legacy of rugged innovation. From its humble origins as a utilitarian military vehicle during World War II, Jeep has traversed the epochs, evolving into an emblem of adventure and freedom on both urban boulevards and untamed trails alike.
The Wagoneer S embodies this rich heritage, melding the ethos of eco-consciousness with the indomitable spirit of exploration. With a robust 400-volt, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack propelling it forward, the Wagoneer S promises a range exceeding 300 miles on a single charge, accompanied by an awe-inspiring 600 horsepower. Noteworthy is the brand’s commitment to sustainability, as emphasized by renowned designer Ralph Gilles, who spearheaded the integration of eco-friendly materials into the vehicle’s fabric. The exterior design– tightly bound with a high beltline and segmented light signature– was inspired by “the intensity of a shark”.
As a surprise, Jeep took the evening further with the unveiling of the Trailhawk off-road performance concept vehicle, a tantalizing glimpse into Jeep’s future ambitions and disproving worried critics that Jeep’s electrification would end up eliminating its off-road talents. CEO Filosa hinted at its potential future production, promising an exhilarating addition to the iconic Jeep lineup. Jeep representatives were careful to point out that the Wagoneer brand– led by the ultra-luxurious (and ultra-expensive) flagship Grand Wagoneer SUV– will serve as the more upmarket segment within the Jeep family, sending a clear signal to the likes of Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz to watch out.
The event was a relaxed and chic affair with a DJ spinning dance music while guests enjoyed a literal seafood tower, champagne by Veuve Clicquot, bespoke cocktails and passed snacks. Guests were able to get up close and personal with the new vehicle, with two examples of the Wagoneer S and one example of the Trailhawk concept vehicle available for examination. Guests snapped selfies and walk-around videos amidst fog machines and flashing lights.
Adding to the excitement, attendees received swag bags curated by Kiel James Patrick, featuring custom hats, sunglasses, and keychains, adding a touch of classic American style to the occasion.
