Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, in the days before Instagram and influencers, rappers were flaunting their jewels in their videos and in their music, and that was all thanks to one man – Jacob Arabo.
Better known as Jacob the Jeweler, Arabo’s over the top timepieces became the go-to for rappers and celebrities with a few million to spare. Featured in countless songs and videos, a Jacob & Co. timepiece was a symbol of your takeover of the rap and hip-hop world and last week he made his grand return to the high life.

Hosted alongside Carine Roitfeld, Jacob re-opened the doors to his lavish store which is perched right in the middle of Billionaires Row on 57th st between Park and Madison. From a red carpet entrance to bottles of Dom Perignon, the party was as decadent as any of his pieces. Guests took photos of the expensive baubles while enjoying some very generous scoops of caviar, all while taking a walking tour of the store, which as it happens is built over a granite mine and has translucent floors. Guests included Adrien Brody, Debra Messing, Elsa Hosk, Danielle Herrington and of course, Carine Roitfeld herself.
