It’s Time To Treat Your Self To A Biologique Recherche Facial

I am a huge skincare junkie, but I have a horrible secret…..I have not had a facial in years and, it’s embarrassing! So, when Skinney Medspa invited me to their Flatiron location in NYC to try their Biologique Recherche signature facials, I needed to go.  I’ve had the opportunity to try other services that Skinny Medspa has to offer, so I already knew I’d have an amazing experience.

My facialist and Licensed Esthetician Josie brought me into the spa room and immediately informed me this facial would be different from most. The Biologique Recherche facial uses no heat and is a cryo-therapy facial. But no worries, if you’re not a fan of the cold, you’ll be under a heated blanket for the entire duration of the 8o min facial. Josie also shared that another part of what separates the Biologue Recherche facial from the rest is how they treat your skin. Unlike most facials, where you’ll be treated based on standard skin types, like oily or dry, they treat your based on your “skin instance.” Whatever your skin is doing at that moment, whether it be dry, oily, or a combination is what they’ll treat the skin for. Everybody who comes in gets their own customized facial following the assessment, and initialization examination, where their skin is assessed for their skin instance, and only Biologique Recherche products would be used.

After Josie began the service, my only concern was that I would fall asleep and snore through all the information I needed to know.  Between Josie’s magic hands, the “welcome massage” on my shoulders, and the heated blanket, I was so relaxed that I barely noticed the cold products on my face. Josie started by cleansing my skin with the Solution Demaquillante Pour Les Yeux, then warming my skin with her hands and some Eau Micellair Biosensible. She followed this up using the Lotion P50 W. The Lotion P50 W is actually one of their exfoliating toners. Josie explained that the P50W was best for my skin based on my initialization examination; I only needed a mild exfoliant. The P50 lotions are among their most popular products and have a few different skin needs variations.  Josie then applied the MC110 No2 and massaged my facial contours decollate for a plumping and lifting effect. Then the fun really with Masque Biosensible and Masque VIP O2 for hydration and brightening, topped with a cold mask and cryosticks gently massaging my face over the mask. Serum Amniotique for hydration, A-Glyca to help with inflammation in the skin, and Serum Placenta for hyperpigmentation for selected for me based on my skin instance and applied. Because all of Biologiques Recherche’s serums all have low molecular weight, they really allow for the skin to absorb them and reap the benefits. Josie finished the facial off with Creme Contour De Yeux Et Levres Biofixine as an eye cream, Biokiss for lip care, and Creme PIGM400 combined with Creme VIP02 to treat my hyperpigmentation and to protect my skin from pollution.

This facial was relaxing and refreshing and 1000% worth it! Yes, facials and quality skincare can be on the pricey side, but if you think it’s time to treat yourself to something or need some R&R, this is how you should do it. Thanks to the amazing  Josie and the Skinny MedSpa team, I took away so much information on how to take care of my skin better, my skin looks amazing, and I left feeling amazing. Book an appointment as soon as you can!
