On Wednesday April 27th, Meatpacking’s newest venue, Invite Only, invited us (naturally) to their opening night.
Behind a discreet door, we were led down a small hallway covered in branches and candlelit lanterns, to our destination. Invite Only evokes old Hollywood combined with a hip feel that matches the neighborhood. 1950’s photographs featuring Beverly Hills adorn the walls with a grand chandelier at the center that emanates elegance. A textured, architectural wall at the back lined in votive candles provides a modern, romantic touch. Large, round booths with luxurious plush seating line the walls offering an excellent option for groups as well as some two-seat options that make this a date spot as well.
Their drink menu features a variety of upscale cocktails that tied in with the Beverly Hills theme including The Beverly (50 Bleu vodka, fresh lemon, muddled pineapple, dash of cayenne) as well as The Oscar (Hendricks gin, homemade ginger syrup, fresh lemon juice, topped with pacifico). Invite Only also offered pitchers of homemade secret sangria and various cocktails which are perfect for groups.
For guests that come with hunger, Invite Only offers a wide variety of bites and entrees including oysters, shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare, poutine truffle fries. One of the most popular dishes we tried was the Fried Chicken Sliders, featuring cajun cole slaw, Hawaiian bread and paired with their homemade ranch. Yes, yes, and yes.
Taking into consideration, the killer location, solid menu, and alluring ambiance, we would recommend this as a place to start off Saturday night with friends or for a pre-dinner drinks with a significant other. Enjoy!
