This Thursday, February 16th, in Hollywood, CA, the Knockturnal had the pleasure of attending the Daybreaker Duo event. One hour of outdoor morning yoga and three shots of organic espresso later, and we were off to RAGE to A-Trak while enjoying free juices and breakfast bites.
It was hella fun.
Oh. And also – we were joined by our girl, Ashley Tisdale, who co-led the morning yoga sesh. I know – try to contain your jealousy.
DAYBREAKER is an early morning dance movement in 15 cities around the world and growing. It starts with a one hour yoga + fitness experience and then a dance party before work. People from all over come as they are to sweat, dance and connect with themselves and fellow Daybreakers. Pretty sweet.
The sold out event was amazing, especially considering that Duo gave away their free new body cleansers from Olay, Old Spice, and Ivory to each of the Daybreakers! Thanks Duo!
Celebrated as “the never before seen two-sided clean,” the unique design of DUO boasts a flexible cleanser encapsulated by a two-sided cleaning implement – one exfoliating side and one that’s smooth.
The “Bubbles and Bathrobes” themed party welcomed over 1,000 consumers and inspired them to reinvent their morning. Additionally, the event featured a life-size DUO-themed pop-up shower display.
We sat down with Ashley to discuss her Duo involvement and the latest on what she’s up to. Check it out!Tell us about your collaboration with duo and what inspired you to work with them.
Well, I’m a big fan of Olay and obviously skin care and I got it before it hit shelves and got obsessed with it. I’m not one to exfoliate all the time, and I know it’s really good to get all the dead skin cells off. It’s usually because I have to jump in the shower and it’s not the first thing I’m thinking about – but with Duo it actually has the body wash hard soap and exfoliator, and because I spray tan so much for events it’s PERFECT for prepping my skin. It smells really good too.
You’re executive producer of Young & Hungry. Tell us about your involvement.
I was there from the idea to now we’re in season 5, wow. I have a production company called Blondie Girl Productions, which I’ve had for 5 years and that was our first script we developed in the company and it was the first one to actually get picked up and go to series and to be a part of a show that just keeps going… it’s pretty awesome. There are so many things we develop that don’t hit the air, so it’s nice to see something being pretty successful.
Were you involved in casting?
Yes, it was originally written for me but I was involved in another project at the time. It’s funny because when I casted Emily (Osment)- I’ve known her for a long time, and she’s one of those girls that is a little bit of a hot mess in real life, and I saw her at an audition and I was like, “Omg she’d be perfect. And she was one of the girls on the list so we just knew she was perfect.”
You and your husband Chris collaborated on your current YouTube video where you sing a duet with Vanessa Hudgens. Do you and your husband jam out a lot together?
Not really – this was the first time we collaborated together and I wanted to relaunch my YouTube channel so I created this show called Music Sessions where me and my husband cover songs. There will be more guests, Vanessa was our first guest and it was really fun to collaborate with her.
