This Wednesday evening, Gottmik hosted “Pride on the Park,” a stunning kick-off cocktail party to Pride Month at the Darling Rooftop of Park Lane New York.
Known for their striking make-up and runways on Rupaul’s Drag Race (Season 13 and All Stars 9), Gottmik’s charisma and style set the stage for an exciting evening, benefitting the Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI).
The Darling Rooftop of Park Lane New York stood out not only for its stunning views but also for its design. Creatively headed by Yabu Pushelberg and featuring commissioned murals by En Viu, the hotel blends the exuberance of New York City with the lush beauty of Central Park.
Gottmik was enveloped in a dazzling, body-hugging dress adorned with intricate black and silver sequins, exuding beauty and glamor. The swirling patterns of their outfit, paired with their signature makeup and bold accessories, made them the center of attention. As they mingled with guests, Gottmik spread warmth and excitement, delivering a welcoming toast that celebrated HMI’s crucial work and encouraged generous donations.
Following this, Amy Harclerode, the CEO of Hetrick-Martin Institute, delivered a moving speech emphasizing the essential services HMI provides to LGBTQIA+ youth. HMI is the nation’s oldest LGBTQIA+ youth organization and offers comprehensive support to queer and trans youth, primarily of color, between the ages of 13 and 24. Their services address critical issues such as education, healthcare, mental health, homelessness, and transgender and gender liberation. Harclerode expressed heartfelt gratitude to Park Lane for their unwavering support, which was met with resounding enthusiasm and applause from the crowd.
The rooftop buzzed with the presence of TV personalities like Kelly Bensimon and Johnny Bananas, models like Sophie Sumner, and renowned designers including Christian Siriano, Marc Bouwer, and Frederick Anderson.
Music was also at the heart of the celebration. The Misshapes, with DJs Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol, kept the energy high with their electrifying sets. Legendary muse Dianne Brill, alongside Daniel Walters and Jack James Busa of The Muses, added to the evening’s eclectic mix.
The St-Germain spritz bar kept the party buzz alive, offering a social retreat for refreshing cocktails that perfectly complemented the summer evening and rooftop’s unparalleled view of Central Park. As the night unfolded, a stunning fireworks display illuminated the sky.
Pride on the Park at Darling Rooftop beautifully blended celebration, support, and community spirit. The attendees, stunning views of Central Park, heartfelt speeches, and lively entertainment all contributed to a wonderful evening supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
