Go big or go even bigger! Winners of the 2022 TAG Global Spirits Awards took guests on their exciting #FIRSTFLIGHT, 3-day trip to the home of tequila and heart of El Cristiano.
The ultra-premium brand was born in Jalisco, Mexico and what better way of understanding the passion and purity behind the tequila than to explore its true roots and dive right into the culture. On this unforgettable weekend guests were able to enjoy a wide range of activities from tequila tastings, visit to the tequilero, nights out in the booming downtown area of Guadalajara, a private celebration at Casa Sauza and so much more!
What sets El Cristiano 1761 apart from other tequila brands are the experts behind the scenes, Karan & Nitin Khanna, Christian Navarro, Bill & Chris Shafer and the Aceves brothers with over four decades of experience in the tequila industry have poured every ounce of their knowledge into creating high quality liquor. Their dedication to making pure tequila with no additives and a strong focus on harvesting only mature agave that is aged at least six years is immediately detected in the tequila’s smoothness. “85% of all tequila brands add either sugar, flavor, and color, or all of these elements, to make their tequila taste better to the customer. We are confident that our differentiation process will resonate clearly to the consumer both in taste and quality.”

The founders of El Cristiano are so confident in their brand they whisked an exclusive group of guests to Mexico to see for themselves. Members of the group were treated to an inflight lunch courtesy of Wally’s Wine & Spirits. With bellies full and excitement levels at an all time high, attendees arrived in Guadalajara and made their home at AC Hotel by Marriott. After freshening up, guests headed to Espacio Mil500 for an eventful evening of dancing, authentic Mexican food and of course, El Cristiano tequila. On the menu were a variety of tacos, churros, tostilocos, and a plethora of Mexican goods. After a brief speech from founders Khanna and Navarro thanking visitors for joining them on this special experience, #firstflight goers continued to get acquainted, be entertained by the private mariachi show and dance the night away. It was apparent from day one that this trip was not only a look into how quality tequila is made, but also a deep dive into family, tradition, and a profound love for Mexico.
