In an unexpected turn of events, Bloom begins running the world’s most exclusive and high-stakes poker game, with players such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Ben Affleck trying their luck at the tables. Hollywood stars, famous athletes, business titans, and the Russian mob became her regular customers. After being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 weapon-wielding FBI agents, she is put on trial; her attorney, Charlie Jaffey, becomes her only ally.
The dramatic film is Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut; he is better known for writing critically-acclaimed plays, television shows, and movies such as The Social Network, Moneyball, The Newsroom, Steve Jobs, A Few Good Men, and The West Wing. and is set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. However, movie lovers everywhere can see the film in theaters starting in November.
