On Tuesday, August 17th, Sara and Erin Foster launched their clothing brand, Favorite Daughter, at Five-Story South Hampton. The shopping event kicked off the brand’s launch on the east coast at both the Five-Story NYC and South Hampton locations.
The shopping event was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. Guests could try on pieces from the Favorite Daughter collection and be sketched by artist Deanna First. Sara and Erin Foster’s clothing line, Favorite Daughter, has rapidly gained popularity since its initial launch in December of 2020. Favorite Daughter has some of the trendiest pieces floating around Instagram, and I had to check them out. When I first peeked at the clothing on the Favorite Daughter website, I was elated to see that most of their clothing went up to a size XL or 18.
After hearing about their upcoming launch at South Hampton Five-Story, I had to see the pieces for myself, and I’m so happy I did. My sister and I were drawn to ‘The Lena Long Cardigan” ($278) and decided to try it on; while they have it in an XL online, Five-Story only had this piece in size L. I was quite nervous to try it on after seeing how amazing my size 4 sister looked in the long cardigan she styled as a dress, BUT IT FIT! I was shocked; not only did this piece fit me, but it was SO comfortable and flattering. To give you an idea of my size, my hip measurements are 52 cm, which is usually a 2x/3x in most of my clothing. Many higher-end clothing lines don’t bother to launch beyond a size 12 or sometimes run small, so I was fully prepared to settle for experiencing the brand vicariously through my much smaller sister. Not only are these visibly high-quality pieces, but there’s something for everyone in the collection. Favorite Daughter’s clothing ranges from $120-$300, putting them on the more affordable and inclusive side of the luxury clothing spectrum. Something to note about the Favorite Daughter clothing line is that each piece from the collection can be styled in many ways. These are not pieces of clothing that you buy and wear once; because of the incredible quality, these pieces are absolutely worth the price and perfect for incorporating well-made clothing into your wardrobe. A piece like “The Favorite Pant” or the “White Poplin Shirt” can easily be dressed up or down, depending on how you style them.
After the excitement of trying on some of the collection, being sketched, and a can of Bev Rosé, I purchased the cutest bracelet from the collaboration with Roxanna Assoulin. Check out some more pictures from the event below.
